Bitcoiners want to cut your head off and freeze it - What I am reading (or purposefully misreading) 10/8/2014

Ars Technica - Supreme Court won’t hear Superman heirs’ copyright case -
The high-profile "copyright termination" dispute over Superman—arguably the most famous comic character of all time—is finally over. DC Comics defeated the heirs of artist Joe Shuster and writer Jerry Siegel.
I might be more upset if Superman wasn't such a dick character.   What can I say my principles are flexible.

Cryptocoinnews - The Extropian Roots of Bitcoin -
Bitcoin is booming, but not every enthusiast knows that the cryptocurrency has roots in a radical, futurist philosophy that started to bloom in the California of the 80s.
Hmm, so did Ronald Reagan and we all know Reagan lived on the jellied brains contained in the severed heads of the American taxpayer.  Well, maybe I imagined that part, but in any case still the greatest President ever.

Pando Daily - How “The Most Diverse Tech Conference in the World” wants to fix technology’s race and gender issues  -
A lot of people have written about this issue, and almost every piece cites the same statistics: Less than 20 percent of the technology workforces at Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter are women. At those same companies, less than 5 percent of the technology workforces are black or hispanic. Meanwhile, only thirteen percent of venture-backed startups are founded by women, and only one percent of venture-backed startups are founded by African Americans. To be honest, I’m getting a little sick of writing (and reading) this recap, but until things change I’ll have to keep doing it.
My first thought is that a well placed nuke over the Bay area would fix all our problems, but I am told that might be construed as insensitive.  My back-up plan of providing both sides with machine guns and napalm and staging a battle royale for available positions  is apparently also a non-starter.
