Bitcoins and Other Stuff 4/9/13

Endgadget - Austin TX getting Google Fiber Maybe Texas really is the promised land because they are also getting Colt Commercial, an AR-15 manufacturer to relocate there, and that's only one in a string of recent announcements about companies moving to Texas.

CNNMoney - Want to view the "Deep Web"? That's is internet connected devices that aren't normally indexed by search engines like Google - then use Shodan
It's a kind of "dark" Google, looking for the servers, webcams, printers, routers and all the other stuff (ed. such as industrial control systems) that is connected to and makes up the Internet.
...
What's really noteworthy about Shodan's ability to find all of this -- and what makes Shodan so scary -- is that very few of those devices have any kind of security built into them.
This is why power utility control networks are required to be airgapped from the internet. Shodan isn't the only way to do this of course but it seems to be a sort of one stop shop. That, however, brings another related story - Apparently North Korea is attempting to knock out the US cyber infrastructure.

Bitcoin hits $200 mark - Bubble? - related Bitcoin = Bitcon and more - New Skype Malware Uses Victims' Machines to Mine Bitcoin but if you are really into Bitcoin here is a trading app and a mining guide.

Slashdot - Israel declares the effort to erase Israel from the cyber map a failure.
