One motion or topic, two sides, a moderator and an hour.
Of course in the Presidential debates there wouldn't be three people on each side as described on the Intelligence Squared website but you get the point. I just want to force the candidates to stake out a position and defend it I am tired of sound bites and platitudes.
I just found this program today but what I have listened to so far is pretty good. Topics they have covered:
Hamas: Government or Terrorist Organization?
Hollywood and the Spread of Anti-Americanism
Global Warming is Not a Crisis (Before the debate 30% of the audience agreed with the proposition. After 46%)
Better More Surveillance than Another 9/11 (Before the debate 41% supported the proposition 37% opposed. After 39.5% supported 55% opposed)
A Booming China Spells Trouble for America
Is Spreading Democracy in Middle East a Bad Idea? (Topic- Spreading Democracy in the Middle East is a Bad Idea. Before the debate 46% of the audience supported the topic. After 55%.)
Should We Welcome Undocumented Immigrants? (Topic - Let's Stop Welcoming Undocumented Immigrants. Before the debate 42% supported 34% opposed. After 60% supported 37% opposed.)
Is Russia Becoming Our Enemy Again?
Is It Time to End Affirmative Action? (Before the debate 44% of the audience opposed ending affirmative action. After 55% opposed)

Should America Be the World's Policeman?
Are Tough Interrogations Necessary? (Before the debate 46% of the audience supported tough interrogations 35% opposed it. After 40% for 53% opposed)
Is Islam Dominated by Radicals? (Before the debate 46% of the audience felt Islam was dominated by radicals. After, 73%)
Should We Legalize the Market for Human Organs?
Their upcoming schedule.
The GOP should take a look at the topics and results and use them to figure out how to better sell their message.
