and said that Tolkien blew in the comments thread over at Ace of Spades. I don't really think he does although his writing is a bit dense and I hate all the stupid songs he throws in to the Lord of the Rings, but jeez I get tired of every other fantasy novel being measured against LoTR. It's good maybe even great but it isn't the holy grail.
