Bad Blood - Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup

My week three book has been Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup, which covers the rise and fall of Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos from 2003 to 2018.

For those not aware Theranos, which was founded by Holmes, purported to be revolutionizing clinical laboratory diagnosis.  A claim which turned out to be all smoke and mirrors.

The book starts kind of slowly but quickly picks up as Holmes (in my unprofessional opinion) psychopathy becomes apparent very early.  On TV this might make a good sitcom, if framed correctly, especially when you consider all the high powered financiers and politicians she hoodwinked.  As a true crime story it just makes you shake your head and wonder what the hell is going on in this country.

Highly recommended.
