And yet another convenient Snowden document leak...

Yesterday in the This Week In Tech ( #TWit )  chat room I was saying that I have serious problems with the Snowden documents because the leaks are always so convenient.  A story hits the news  and a couple days later here comes a Snowden document release that shows the NSA's nefarious hand right in the middle of it. (What I said was "If Martians invaded tomorrow there would be a document that showed the NSA was behind it the next day" ).

It's always just too damn convenient! And, of course there is no way to know whether or not this is a valid leak or not because no one outside Glenn Greenwald's circle of friends knows what documents are out there.  And, when releases do occur they are never in context; just that parts that Greenwald wants you to see.  The parts that seem to prove his point.

Proving my point - today in The Register - NSA hands Gaza targeting data to Israel, say latest Snowden docs -
“[The] new Snowden documents illustrate a crucial fact: Israeli aggression would be impossible without the constant, lavish support and protection of the U.S. government, which is anything but a neutral, peace-brokering party in these attacks," wrote Greenwald. "The relationship between the NSA and its partners on the one hand, and the Israeli spying agency on the other, is at the center of that enabling.”
Surprise, Surprise, Surprise - The documents prove exactly what Greenwald wants them to prove.  Don't worry about proving provenance or authenticity.  That's not for the little people to be worried about.
