He has hired Rebecca Tallent, John McCain's immigration adviser, as an aide and has been quoted by aides this week as saying he supports "step by step" reform, although he remains opposed to comprehensive reform.
Personally I don't necessarily oppose these changes - I have made my position on immigration reform known often enough in the past (i.e. illegal immigration is primarily an economic problem and the enforcement steps we take to combat it should be aimed at making it uneconomic) - but this is going get get the hardcorp conservatives even more upset at Boehner. I think we may be seeing a new Speaker soon.
