Tracking the election via Amazon.com - I don't think it bodes real well for McCain

About a week ago Instapundit linked a map at Amazon.com that tracked political book purchases by state and the determined how red or blue that state is. At the time he noted that the map had gotten redder (more Republican) over the past few months.

Being a diehard Republican / Conservative I was happy to see that, but then I compared the current reults to the 2004 results and all the joy fled from my life as I once again felt the doom of impending electoral defeat crash down upon my shoulders. OK, not really but my joy was tempered. The map isn't near as red as it was in 2004. In addition there hasn't been as much movement from blue to red as there was in 2004.

Of course this is completely unscientific and probably a wasted of time but it will be interesting to see how the Amazon map compares with the electoral college map on election day.
