Palin Mania Strikes Again - 3 From The Pacific Northwest

The first two are from Rasmussen -

First - Dino Rossi, the Republican who had the Governors race stolen from him by King County (Seattle) in 2004 now leads in the Gubernatorial race 52% to 46%.

Second - McCain has closed to within 2% points of Barack Obama in Washington State. This is pretty amazing considering WA has gone Democrat every election since 1984.

The third item doesn't really have anything to do with Palin, but I had to get your attention somehow.

Gov. Brian Schweitzer D (for Dumbass)- MT. suggested in a speech this summer that he had engaged in intimidation to influence the election of Jon Tester to the Senate in 2004. He claims he was joking but given that all the documented cases of voter intimidation and fraud that I know of in the 2004 election came from the Dem side you can probably see why people are a little concerned.

HELENA — When word surfaced this week that Gov. Brian Schweitzer suggested in a speech this summer that he influenced Montana's 2006 U.S. Senate race to help a fellow Democrat, Schweitzer apologized and said he was joking.

Republicans were not amused. On Thursday, GOP Secretary of State Brad Johnson asked Attorney General Mike McGrath to investigate a citizen complaint over Schweitzer's election-tampering comments.

McGrath, a Democrat, issued a quick refusal, saying "the accusations contain no allegation supported by fact." He then appeared to admonish Johnson for seeking the investigation. "The misuse of the criminal justice system for political purposes is a serious matter," McGrath wrote in his response.

In the speech, Schweitzer said he took steps on Election Day to help Democrat Jon Tester unseat Republican U.S. Sen. Conrad Burns.

Hall said Schweitzer boasted in the speech that "he designed a plan to threaten poll watchers on Indian reservations, personally applied pressure to the elections officer in Butte/Silver Bow while the votes were being tabulated and manipulated the media for purposes of diminishing a call for a recount."
