I guess he is trying to make a deep point with this game, but in my opinion he is just showing how unserious his opinion on this matter is.
The game starts out with a hooded head and a happy little tune playing in the background, kind of a whistle while you work thing I guess. Implying that our troops / intelligence agents responsible for carrying out these interrogations really deep down enjoy what they are doing. I kind of doubt that's the case but apparently Nick Anderson has a lower opinion of them than I do.
After clicking on the hood to start the game you begin waterboarding the terrorist with the same catchy tune playing. If you don't waterboard long enough you are encourage to keep going. Go to long and you get a message that tells you that you failed and your detainee is being flown to one of our torture friendly allies to have it done right. If you manage not to drown your detainee then you are allowed to progress to applying electric shock, stacking naked prisoners on top of each other and another option I can't get to now. All while the same happy tune plays.
Nice huh?
Now this jackass is entitled to his opinion, but I have a couple major problems here. First he implies that everyone involved in terrorist interrogations is a sadistic asswipe who enjoys his work. Second there is no context to what's going on implying it is all being done for fun. Third at least on of the tortures is tortures is obviously based on Abu Gharib and people were prosecuted for those violations (not enough people maybe and maybe not high enough up the food chain but they were).
This guy is obviously a tool and there is probably a special place in hell for him. We couldn't get lucky enough that when al-Qaeda captures journalists he would be one.
