Violence down in Iraq again

I know that at the beginning of the month I was concerned that the violence against civilians seemed to be turning upwards. I just checked the numbers again and if the current rate of violence continues then the month will close with about 491 casualties recorded at icasualties.org. Since 40 of those are highly suspect, as I detailed earlier in the month that will mean an actual decrease in violence again for the fourth month.

I am still worried about the pace of political progress in Iraq and that the insurgents may try a big attack like the Mosque in Samarra but overall I am happy about the results we are seeing.
