Made these for the first time today. They went over pretty well.
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/2 pound ground beef
1/2 peppered bacon
1 envelope (1 3/8 oz.)beefy onion soup mix
1 cup spicy barbecue sauce
2 1-pound cans pork and beans in tomato sauce
1/2 cup cold water
1 1/2 tablespoon prepared yellow mustard
1/2 tablespoon spicy brown mustard
1 1-pound can red kidney beans, drained
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons vinegar
1 capful liquid smoke
In large, heavy skillet, melt butter and brown meat, stirring
frequently to separate meat. Add remaining ingredients. Pour i
nto a 2 1/2 quart casserole and bake at 350° until hot and bubbly.
Reduce heat to 200° and cook for an additional 1 1/2 hours.
(I like thick beans)
