Having trouble believing this...

On Tuesday I posted about the effort in California to return the legislature to a part time status and cut the legislator's pay by 50%. I also sent emails to a number of putatively small government / libertarian bloggers about this issue. Not one of them picked up on it. Am I the only one who sees how big a change this could be in national politics? Is it just not that interesting a story? What's going on here?

(I'm not looking for links or validation here this really could be a big deal if the organizers get this on the ballot)

I'm liking this idea - Part time legislature in CA

Listening to the John and Ken Show on line and they brought up this idea. Apparently there is a petition drive in CA to change the legislature to a part time assembly that is paid 50% less than they are currently.

God I hope it passes. Half the stupid shit in this country happens because California screws something up and everyone else follows.

Actually we need to impose this on the Federal government too.

90 days for the House
180 days for the Senate since they need to hold confirmation hearings and such.

Sessions should take place in the middle of summer so they can suffer in the heat while they screw us.
