Google is STILL the enemy of real net neutrality

In a step that critics worry will inject political bias into search results, a Google research team released a report this month on ranking search results based on how factual websites are. They propose eventually using that to change Google rankings, which are currently based on website popularity.

Who could have foreseen such a thing?

If only there were a visionary who could have warned us about the dangers lurking in the shadows while everyone bitched and moaned about Netflix actually having to pay for the fucking traffic they consume (I know that's a radical concept but paying your bills is something I actually endorse).

Last year I read a book called The Circle, in which a woman goes to work for a combination Google / Facebook and willingly participates as the company basically destroys all concepts of privacy, free will and decency.  At the time the book seemed a little ridiculous.  Now its seems frickin' prescient.
