This is an update to my earlier post. Colin Powell this morning stated that American aid to the Tsunami victims may well be in the Billions of dollars. He also made the point that it does no good at the moment to blindy promise money when we don't know what is needed.
In addition the Abraham Lincoln Battle Group will arrive on site today, they also have a Marine Expeditionary Unit so that means reverse osmosis water purification and field medical facilities will be available.
China's aid contribution has reached 60,000,000.
Private American contributions have reached between 80,000,000 and 127,000,000.
Wizbang is doing a good job of keeping the complainers in line.
Update: The US has now committed 350,000,000 in direct aid.
